Mitch Hanlon - Music Director and Pianist in Fullerton

Mitch Hanlon is a conductor, pianist, and vocal coach based in Fullerton, California. He has spent much of his career teaching and performing across Southern California, including time as a professor and musical director at California State University, Fullerton, and founding a musical theater minor program at University of Southern California. Mitch Hanlon continues to work as a freelance conductor, musical director, and voice teacher.

Mr. Hanlon’s work as a conductor and accompanist has included performances across several continents and collaborations with a wide range of famous performers, having worked with over one hundred Grammy, Tony, or Oscar-nominated artists. He has appeared at professional venues like the Hollywood Bowl, where he was Assistant Conductor for the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for 16 seasons, and where assisted with concerts for more than twenty-five seasons. His recent projects include being vocal coach for Jeremy Irons for Disney's 30th Anniversary of The Lion King live concert and TV special. Also he recently was musical director for several seasons of "Winter Lights: A Journey Home" at the Discovery Cube Children’s Museum.

Outside of his performance and teaching work, Mr. Hanlon contributes to community organizations and volunteer programs. He is active in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, where he serves as grant writing chair to help secure funding for youth and veteran programs. He also serves as the music director and organist at First Christian Church in Fullerton. In his free time, he enjoys gardening and staying active playing tennis and golf.
